Lasagna
Lasagna is my favorite comfort food, so I'm excited to share this recipe with y'all!
Ingredients:
1.50 cup, shredded, Mozzarella Cheese, part-skim, shredded
2 egg (50g), Eggs
1 tsp, ground, Black pepper
252.00 g, Lasagna Noodles
28 wt. oz, Tomato
0.50 cup, Onion
1 teaspoon, Salt
3 clove, Garlic
1 lb(s), Lean Ground Beef
24 oz, Part skim ricotta cheese
0.25 cup(s), Parmesan Grated Parmesan Cheese
3 tbsp, Egg Whites
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F degrees.
Heat a large skillet. When hot, add the ground beef, onion, and garlic and cook over medium-high heat, breaking the meat with a wooden spoon until no pink remains.
Add the crushed tomatoes, season with salt and black pepper, cover, and let it simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and combine with cottage cheese, 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese, and the Pecorino Romano. Set aside.
In a 13 x 9 casserole dish, spread 1 cup of sauce on the bottom of the pan. Repeat the layers in the order:
4 uncooked lasagna noodles
1/3 of the cheese mixture
1 cup of the sauce
For the top layer, add the remaining sauce and finish with 1 cup mozzarella. Cover tightly with foil and bake 55 to 60 minutes, until the pasta is cooked through.
Uncover and continue cooking until all the cheese browns slightly, about 5 minutes.
Let sit for 5 minutes before cutting. Slice into 8 pieces.
